Beechlands Accountancy Services Limited

Founded in 1983, Paul  commenced trading in Bromley, Kent. Subsequently, the practice has opened further offices in Sidcup, Heathfield, Eastbourne, Bath and now Notting Hill, in west London. The head office is now based in Bath.

Prior to this Paul started “ cricket scoring in 1973 , which was the basis of basic book keeping ! For every run scored by the batsman , the bowler conceived ,so at the end of innings the numbers needed to balance ! 

Prior to Beechlands Accountancy Services which was set up in 1991 , Bromley Book keeping services was established in 1983 .The business has organically grown since 1983 from providing Booking services to accountancy services over the years.

The practice is run by  Paul J. Charles who is a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians and became a member in 1983.

For over 39  years, Beechlands has kept abreast of new technologies and office procedures. We use Sage software which supports our business environment.

In the past we have used  Sage products using the  range from Sage line 50, to Sage taxation products covering Personal, Business, Corporation and payroll taxes.However we are finding that with “Making Tax digital “far more impressive data solutions are now available on line which are less expensive and far more user friendly .

Theses products range from Free Agent ,Xero , Quick Books , Dext ( formally Receipt bank ).For Cash flow and projections we subscribe to Float which links via an app to Free agent , Xero and Quick Books.

For our  Accountancy practice Managment system we use “ Accountancy Manager “ this links to Company House which enables us to deal Company House submissions for the Annual Confirmation statement .

We have also invested resources in a Company and Credit checking data base where we can monitor businesses and check our clients' credit ratings which has been extremely useful.The system we subscribe to is Dunn & Bradstreet and Business Express Experian which provides to us useful data when carrying out credit checks .

Additionally, we use a fully-functional back-up service, “Safe Data Storage”. This allows our data to be backed-up every night and stored in three secure data centres around the globe;

We also worked alongside Comtecs Ltd to construct and design an on-line data base so as to be able to access all clients' data from anywhere in the world at the push of a button.

For our secretarial work, we outsource to OutSec where we dictate our letters and reports .

At Beechlands we can proudly say that we are taking full advantage of cloud computing and are always looking at new projects.

Our offices are paperless and not cluttered with bulky filing cabinets as the files are held in the cloud .

During Covid we worked with our clients to keep up todate with all the obligations of filing returns ,covering from Vat , RTI ( payroll returns and Furlough claims , CIS, self assessment and Corporate returns.

The next step we are preparing for is Making tax digital .
